IBM partnered with Salesforce to attain consulting services solutions

Good news for the customers is that IBM and Salesforce are going to partner. The new partnership includes a way for IBM to sell consulting services across both Salesforce’s Einstein and IBM’s Watson AI-branded businesses. Insights from the Watson will now be available on Salesforce’s Intelligent Customer Success platform that will be mixing Einstein’s customer relationship data with Watson’s stores of structured and unstructured data that include weather, healthcare, financial services and retail, the companies said.

“Within a few years, every major decision personal or business will be made with the help of AI and cognitive technologies” this statement was given by Ginni Rometty, chairman, president, and chief executive officer, IBM.

Rometty also said that IBM expects Watson to let 1 billion people through everything from oncology and retail to tax preparation and cars. As IBM runs a lot of Watson ads so probably advertisement might also be included.

“The combination of Einstein and Watson will make businesses smarter and our customers more successful. I’m thrilled to form an alliance with IBM no company’s core values are as close to Salesforce’s as IBM’s. It’s the best of both worlds.” said Marc Benioff, chairman and chief executive of Salesforce.

Although Benioff’s statements are quite clear and friendly still these companies don’t go along that perfectly, in fact, this makes a bizarre combination. Also, it is not yet clear that how well the two intelligence products would go together and how good they are going to stay to each other.

According to the statement, the two companies will be handling out Watson integration with Einstein with APIs, to target customers with all the best. The two companies presented that Einstein’s data on customers could be mixed with weather and broad retail industry data to send email campaigns to shoppers.

The weather integration would be quite beneficial for both the companies as Salesforce AppExchange will include its Weather Company business as a major component providing weather updates that will inform customers. IBM’s consulting company Bluewolf will create a practice unit for Salesforce’s Einstein software and services which are the foremost important thing for this partnership. The remaining services will come out in the second half of the year.
