Nikon announces a new rugged point and shoots camera that allows people to fulfill their underwater shooting dreams.

Strongly built Coolpix W300  camera brings video recording prowess for trips under water.

Water, Dust, Cold and Drop Resistant:

The main feature is the 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) video capture which allows you to record videos at up to 30 fps. It is water resistant for up to 30 minutes, dust, and cold (up to negative 10-degree Celsius) so there are unlimited places you can take it. Even, It can survive drops of 2.4 m, too.

Lens Specifications and Connectivity Options:

At the front, there  is a 16-megapixel NIKKOR lens along with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS backlight-illuminated sensor (BSI) with 5X (24-120mm) optical zoom. From anywhere in the video,  You can both pause videos or take an 8 MP still.

Pricing:

 Coolpix W300 costs $395, which sounds a lot for a point-and-shoot camera, though, similar options are difficult to find,  in the rugged segment.

The 4K shooting option particularly gives you room to add quality to your adventures. While it will compete with the Olympus TG-5 which is much expensive, and the larger rivalry will come from smartphones, that are getting environmental resistance more rapidly, as well as have become much better shooters over the years.
