Here is a guide to disable Facial recognition feature of Facebook. Have you been on Facebook over the previous few days? If you are one of those replying “yes”, I am sure you have seen a note from the social media platform about its expansion of the network’s facial recognition features.
The notice for the addition of facial recognition feature had been coincided with a court ruling against Facebook. Earlier this week in Illinois a court ruling that Facebook is bound by the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act, which needs both notice & consent before biometric information can be collected from any of the residents of Illinois, was announced.
So we can say that the court ruling regarding the residents of Illinois is a good reminder that Facebook is collecting biometric data on you, and you might want to opt out of letting the social network do it.
For those guys wishing to turn off facial recognition feature of Facebook, here is a guide.
