Pakistan is all set to inaugurate first ever school for transgender community. It seems that last two years were quite constructive for the welfare of transgender community in Pakistan. They got many rights during this time period but recent development took it another level. As, Pakistan is all set to inaugurate its first ever institute for educational and vocational training for exclusively the transgender community.
The school will be named “The Gender Guardian” and it will start its operations on 15th April 2018.
The positive step of making a school was the idea of founder Asif Shahzad and the Exploring Future Foundation. The school is first of its own kind as this step taken for the betterment of the society’s neglected part.

According to Asif, at the start about 15 faculty members (including three from the transgender community) will serve at the school.
Moreover, two other branches of the same institution will be opened in Karachi and Islamabad soon.

According to details, 40 students have already taken up admission in the school which is good to know.
Starting from the primary level to matriculation and then intermediate, the school offers 12 years of education.
Apart from regular education, Gender Guardian School will also offer other technical courses students that include:
- Graphic designing,
- Computer and mobile repairing
- Fashion designing
On the other hand, it is expected that several showbiz personalities would be present to attend the formal opening ceremony as well. The opening ceremony will be held at Alhamra Hall in the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
The initiative is taken for a great cause and hopefully it will produce fruitful results in future.
It is pertinent to mention here that after getting the first transgender model a few days ago Pakistan also got his first ever transgender news anchor Marvia Malik.
