He saves an innocent life before the firefighters arrive. A Malian migrant saved an innocent life by mounting a daring rescue to save a small boy who was unattended by his parents and happened to dangle from a balcony in Paris.
The Malian migrant Mamoudou Gassama is hailed as a hero as he has won widespread praise after rescuing the four-year-old boy and is to be made a French citizen.
Through a video showed him being cheered on by spectators when he pulled himself from balcony to balcony to the fourth floor.
President Emmanuel Macron met him at the Elysee Palace and thanked Mr Gassama, gave him a medal for courage and said after the meeting that the 22-year-old will be made a naturalised citizen. The president also promised to offer him a role in the fire service. He was also given a certificate for his heroism.
Mr Gassama arrived in France last year, taking the long and dangerous journey to Europe through a boat over the Mediterranean to Italy.

He became famous on Saturday evening when he rescued the boy who’s mother was not in Paris. Social media took Gassama to a fame that he really deserve.
Mr Gassama claims to be walking past when he saw a crowd gathered in front of the building and he had no time to think, so he ran across the road to go and save the little child.
He told the president, “I just climbed up and thank God, God helped me. The more I climbed the more I had the courage to climb up higher, that’s it,”.
The boy was crying when Gassama hauled him to safety and had also suffered an injured foot.
The boy was rescued before the firefighters arrived.
A spokesman said, “Luckily, there was someone who was physically fit and who had the courage to go and get the child,”.
Boy’s father has been questioned by police on suspicion of leaving his child unattended, judicial sources report.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo referred Gassama as the “Spiderman of the 18th” and praised his heroism and called him to thank him for setting an “example for all citizens”.
