Everyone dreams flying in the air to look at the globe from a height and to feel like a star in the sky. But now these dreams have been turned into necessity due to the traffic jams on the roads in this age which require quick steps taken in each case.

Several tech companies are planning to develop the drone taxis to solve the problem of traffic jams to some extent. Dubai will be the first to put drone taxis in the air.

In June, Dubai‘s Roads and Transport Authority abbreviated as RTA signed an agreement with a German Volocopter company to test a pilotless air taxi till the end of 2017.

Volocopter company is a specialist in the manufacturing of Autonomous Air Vehicles.

The sky taxi that Dubai is set to test is capable of carrying two passengers. These are the environment-friendly taxis powered by clean electricity. Volocopter has very low noise.

Its design comprises 18 rotors to ensure safe cruising and landing of the air taxi in case of any rotor failure.

Dubai is going to start a five year test period for Volocopter later this year. These 5 years pilotless test flights are planned to assure the people that they are safe in the air cabs even without the pilots.

According to the promotional video of this Volocopter,  the pilotless taxi will have the top speed of 100 km per hour with the flight time of 30 minutes.

Volocopter is powered by nine independent battery systems and will have a parachute for emergency situations. However, Volocopter assures that you will never need a parachute while flying this taxi.

Like Volocopter, many other tech companies are on the way to introduce air-cabs. Hopefully, you have heard about the China Ehang drone. This drone flies in the air for 23 minutes with a single passenger.

Another one is Airbus,  the French aircraft maker. Airbus is also working on a prototype air taxi, Vahana. Vahana will begin testing at the end of the current year and one Vahana will be ready by 2020.

Airbus is aiming at 4 to 5 passengers in the Vahana.

Uber is no exception in this case. This company also develops flying cars heading towards their project Project Elevate. This project aim at facilitating city commuting in the times of increased traffic in the major cities.

Uber will test its flying cars by 2020.

If the flying taxis are set to fly with passengers, a lot of tension of the travellers will be gone away. The number of deaths in accidents and ambulances will decrease and late office, late college and other such issues will be solved.

Means that a lot of tension will also fly away from the earth.
