LG to extends its warranty to two years in a bid to restore bad faith

Last week, we were made aware of the fact that LG’s latest flagship, the LG G6 will have two years of warranty, rather than just one. This extra warranty does not just promise the LG consumers an extra year of confidence, but will also act, as LG might hope as a catalyst to restore some of the bad relations that have developed recently between LG and its consumers. The infamous boot loop issue was the reason that why these bad relations were developed in the first place, where a number of LG devices were stuck in a boot loop, due to faulty hardware. As you can imagine, the consumers were not at all happy.

LG made the consumers wait until January 2016 before the company finally addressed the problem. Although the extended warranty is of little consolation for all those who went through all hell to replace the older model, it should be noted that LG has indeed promised to repair all the G4s which were affected by boot loop issues. This extended warranty might not only restore some faith for consumers having bad experiences, but it also might lead to more people to be buying LGs latest flagship because they will be more assured, in case something goes wrong.

Before getting all happy, you should note that this extension of warranty applies only to the states and LGs European customers. This means that the likes of India and other big countries are out of luck. While the extension of warranty is a good and positive step for LG, it still needs to learn and do a lot more before the customers can fully trust the company again!
