Film Verna by Shoaib Mansoor has banned by CBFC Islamabad

We all were waiting for the release of film ‘Verna’ by Shoaib Mansoor. But reports states that ‘Verna’ has been banned by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Islamabad,

According to our sources, the film has now been banned and is pending review.

This film marks Shoaib Mansoor’s terrific return to Pakistani cinema after a semi-hiatus of six years, with ‘Bol’ his last production. The film got much fame even before release with Mahira Khan and Haroon Shahid as the main character.

According to n an official statement by ‘Hum Films’

” filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor has gone into appeal with censor board today for urgent relief for his film ‘Verna.’ The film will hopefully be reviewed by full board today and we are hoping that the full board will prevail.”

The reason behind the ban of Verna was the raw telling of abuse, and it has been termed as offensive indecent for audiences.

Currently the film awaits review under the full board. But the fact is that film projecting extremely real issues that highlight this society.

November 17th was the released date according to film schedule.

Now Sindh Censor Board has also raised objections on the film and CBFC is yet to review it as a full board. Let see what does become of this issue?

Khurram Gultasab, General Manager Super Cinema Pvt Limited said,

“I hope Punjab and Sind does not follow suit. Inshallah everything will settle down soon. No point imposing complete ban, objections can be addressed. Fingers crossed.”

No doubt, over the release the teaser Pakistanis people have naturally gone totally crazy. But it seems there will be some troubles for upcoming film before making it happen to cinemas of Pakistan.
