Business app introduced by WhatsApp to provide enterprise solutions

WhatsApp to provide Enterprise Solutions with its Business app

Looking at new styles from a clothing store? Or you are going to place an order with a local bakery as your dear daughter will celebrate her birthday this midnight…

No need to bother about the issues that disrupt your deals. You are in luck as you have a Mobile phone with WhatsApp installed. Yes, I am not wrong, WhatsApp will do these things for you.

But the shopkeeper you are going to shop should have installed WhatsApp to stay in touch with customers using a single smartphone. WhatsApp will provide him with an easier way to respond to messages.

Because WhatsApp is gearing up to monetize its messaging app by charging massive enterprise businesses for tools to better communicate with customers.

The app will also offer a free app to small and medium sized businesses. However, the specific functionality of the app is not outlined.

The enterprise solution aims at providing customers with useful notifications such as flight times,  delivery confirmations and other updates.

WhatsApp’s Chief Operating Officer Matt Idema says,

“We do intend on charging businesses in the future”.

However, details of monetization have not been figured out.

Artificial Intelligence bot functionality, e-commerce transactions, airlines, e-commerce sites and banks are likely to get charged by WhatsApp so to get multiple representatives managing an account or to send high volumes of messages.

WhatsApp has also announced its closed pilot program for verifying business accounts with a green checkmark.  The green signal distinguishes the personal and fake accounts.

One week ago WhatsApp has started testing verified accounts for businesses. Conversations with businesses are encrypted and able to be blocked.

The business not in your phone contacts would appear in your phone with name, not number. Means that WhatsApp could create a business search engine with optional sponsored results.

On WhatsApp, businesses may require being contacted by a user first before they can respond to organic or sponsored messages. WhatsApp wants to make it easy for the people to communicate with the businesses they need to reach.

However, Businesses will be able to contact only those people who provide their phone number and are agreed to be contacted by the business over WhatsApp.

The enterprise solution will initially be free but it plans to charge businesses.

Some functionality offered by the Business app and enterprise solution includes the ability to create a verified profile with info like address, description, and hours.

Some features to help managing customer chats like away messages for when businesses are not in a situation to respond at the moment are also added.
