Apple admits it slows an iPhone’s battery performance as it ages

Apple admits it slows an iPhone’s battery performance as it ages . If you are an Apple user then you must be facing some battry issues just like me. The irony is yesterday, Apple admitted the fact that it has been reducing iPhone’s performances as the iPhones’ batteries get old and worn.

It seems like Apple would have thought that users will let it go simply, but this isn’t the case. Yes, slowing old iPhones is not tolerable for a person in California.

Apple has been hit with a first class action court case in Los Angeles, California, declaring Apple’s battery saving “feature” is causing users to bear the worth of older devices.

“Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices,” state by an Apple spokeswoman.

Petitioner, Stephan Bodganovich has filled the lawsuit and is mainly paying attention on iPhone 7. Recently, iPhone 7 has been updated with a feature to improve and balance battery performance, which is disturbing for several users.

The petitioner has a point of view that Apple’s verdict of slowing older iPhones to protect battery health, was “never requested or agreed upon” by the corporation. Interestingly, he also claims that feature of reducing the performance of the old iPhones is way to attract target users so they may upgrade to a new device every year.

In general words, Apple does it on purpose (slow down the battery performance via new software updates) to hit more customers.

According to another report from Chicago‘s local media, Apple has faced an additional federal lawsuit in Chicago by 5 consumers. The lawsuit charges tech giant for “deceptive, immoral and unethical” performances that disobey consumer protection law.

Apple has slowed down their older iPhone models with software updates in a bid to advance battery life, litigants claim.

The users from different states of the US are reporting this matter and are likely to turn into part of this lawsuit. iPhone 5, iPhone 6/6S and iPhone 7 are the affected iPhone models which are suffering low-performance issues.

The litigants are demanding damages payments to affected users. Furthermore, they also want Apple to work on that matter and stop doing this practice in future.

It is pertinent to mention here that the issue was raised a couple of days ago when John Poole, Geekbench founder pointed out that Apple reduces the pace of the processors in iPhones with old and worn batteries, by means of software updates. As a result of these updates their performance get slow.

For now, let’s see what actions Apple takes in this situation
