Bangladeshi All-rounder Shakib Al Hassan banned for two years

So in the modern game of cricket, there are still many occasions of match fixing which play a part in disrupting the traditional game. It is without any doubt one of the lowest points of any cricketer to be involved in such a dishonourable act and well it seems that the cricketing world have caught its latest fish in the waters of match fixing. After an on going investigation was put in place against the Bangladeshi T20I and Test captain, Shakib Al Hasan has been banned from all cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for at least two years with one year of that in suspension. It means that he can resume playing from October 29th 2020.

It should also be noted that the T20 World Cup is slated to start from October 19th next year as well and with that in mind it would be seen whether or not Shakib plays a role in the World Cup or not. It should also be noted that the famous cricketer was under investigation by the cricket’s governing body for not reporting approaches by bookies and for breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
