HTC Vive's price goes down drastically the best VR systems right now

The HTC vive is considered by many to be one of the best VR systems right now, if not the best all round. But by being one of the best VR systems in the world, it is also one of the most expensive systems that are present on the market – coming initially at a hefty price tag of $800. Add to this the cost of a VR-ready gaming system and you’ll be handing over a hefty amount of money, and most likely leaving your bank account high and dry. This investment does make little sense to many people, especially when you consider the fact that this platform is still in its first generation of products.
However, for those having second thoughts about the system as a whole due to the substantial investment, there is good news! HTC has cut of $200 straight up from the system, and this brings the price tag down to $599, which still is pretty much, but comparatively is not that big a problem. This price drop seems to be permanent, as it has not only taken its toll on vive’s official website, but also on amazon.com.
The main motivation, one might say for this price cut is the price cut that followed the Oculus Rift, which, by many, is considered to be Vive’s main competitor, the rivalry also proven by the fact that the Oculus was the one that cut the price before the Vive – that also being $200. HTC had to do something about the price difference that was as a result of the Oculus being $200 lesser; a price difference of $400 at that time.  The Rift sale is still ongoing for the summer but the headset and controller bundle will later return to $499, making the systems once again closely matched in terms of costs.
HTC also includes a one-month free trial of its Viveport subscription service with a HTC Vive purchase, which lets customers choose five free titles from a collection of more than 200 games and experiences to check out every month. The regular price comes at $6.99 per month. However, if we’re on the subject, it is also worthy to talk about the fact that you can also pick up a free one month trial directly at the Vive subscription page.
