Huawei’s upcoming P40 will be ‘world’s most powerful 5G phone’

Huawei has finally decided to shed light with respect to the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone in the Huawei P40 Pro – the successor to last year’s Huawei P30 Pro. The launch is set to take place on the 26th of next month in Paris, France. The company’s CEO in Richard Yu not only confirmed the launch, but he also made a bold claim by stating that the smartphone from Huawei will the world’s most powerful 5G flagship phone.

The confirmation with regards to the launch date for the device came during the company’s MWC-replacement virtual launch event which took place yesterday. The Chinese manufacturer also went on to show off its latest Huawei Mate XS foldable phone – which of course is the 5G version of the MatePad Pro. Not only this as the company also progressed on to show some new laptops as well as some new smart home devices along with a bunch of updates to its Huawei Mobile Services ecosystem and the App Gallery.

Otherwise than this, there isn’t too much to know for now. However, there is the news that the Mate upcoming flagship series from Huawei will actually be powered by the Kirin 990 – the same SoC that we saw make its debut in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. And also, much to the helplessness of Huawei, unless some unforeseen events take place between now and the 26th of March, the P40 will not be entertaining apps from Google or indeed the Play Store – due to the US trade ban which was imposed last year.

While the company’s CEO is no stranger to making big claims at Huawei events, it will actually be quite interesting to see exactly how the upcoming P40 stacks up against the most powerful 5G flagship family available on the market right now in the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. Then again, we’ll find out exactly how the upcoming flagship phone matches up when compared with the S20 series, which on its own has deserved the right to be right at the very top.
