Ishaq Dar’s house is up for auction, bid set at Rs185m

Ishaq Dar’s property is up for auction, the starting price has been set in this regard. Meanwhile, the pleas seeking to halt the NAB’s decision has already been dismissed by the court. The starting price of Ishaq Dar’s house has been set at Rs 185 million. The property of the former Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar has been confiscated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in assets beyond means case. The starting bid has been set after the valuation of the property by the government.

Prior to the auction, the court repeatedly summoned former minister to produce himself before court, which he failed to do. After repeated warnings, the court ordered to freeze his assets. After a due period, the court further gave the nod to auction the assets of Ishaq Dar.

The government, in this regard, advertised the property and set a date for the bidding. The auction will be held on 28th of January, after which the highest bidder would take the possession of the house.

Ishaq Dar’s house, which is situated at the center of the Gulberg Lahore, which is considered as the Lahore’s elite district. Tabassum Ishaq, Dar’s wife, who challenged the NAB’s order to auction the property, but the accountability court dismissed her petition and ordered to go ahead with the auction in November 2019.

In her petition, Tabassum Ishaq maintained that the property had been given to her by her husband in 1989, however court rubbished her claims and in the verdict said that Tabassum has failed to prove the legitimacy of the property to her name, and later court gave green signal to NAB to auction the property.

Ishaq Dar, who is in London now a days has been seen recently in a new viral picture with ‘sick’ Nawaz Sharif in a posh restaurant, who also is in London for his treatment. NAB also froze his bank accounts worth Rs 500 million
