Neutrogena helps find out the goods or bads with your skin as the AI in the company’s recently introduced device can judge your pores, fine lines, wrinkles and moisture levels.
Neutrogena unveiled a device that attaches to your iPhone and this way it can tell you more about your skin issues. The device can also convince you to -wait for it- buy more Neutrogena products.
The SkinScanner from the Johnson & Johnson-owned company gets attached to the top of an iPhone, and could take a magnified image of your skin. It can also measure the moisture content in your skin.
Later, an AI-enabled application namely Skin 360 analyzes the data and gives your skin a 0 to 100 rating. The SkinScanner does show you how the rating of your skin is improving over time.
Skin scanner are not a thing quite new, as you can also find them in spas and cosmetics stores like in Sephora. The SkinScanner, however, makes the concept cheaper and more consumer-friendly by sticking it on a smartphone. In this way, Neutrogena is targeting the younger users who feel themselves comfortable with tech and do not necessarily buy creams or cosmetics in the traditional way.

The device does use 12 LED lights, a 30x magnifier & a moisture detector at the edge of the camera. To use this device, you have to just open up the Skin 360 app, later, do replace it directly against your skin and does grab some images. The resulting closeup photos are to show your pores, wrinkles and moisture in -possibly shocking- detail.
From that point, the built-in AI in app does compare your skin to other folks of your age and assigns a maximum score of hundred for the aforementioned categories. If you click on the “improve” button, this click will, naturally, take you to the company’s store, when the users can pick up products to fix their problems.
It is probably not a healthy way to obsess on your pores, wrinkles, and as we have noted with the Way skin sensor, the solution for a dry skin is generally to drink more and more water.
Skin scanner is not terribly expensive at $50, so it might be for you worth a go for some scanner. Neutrogena will show it at CES 2018.
