OnePlus TV set to come with a 4K QLED HDR screen and an AI assistant

So the major brand in cell phone technology, OnePlus are very well known for making top-of-the-line, flagship smartphones which have been a major hit in the smartphone market but like many of their competitors this particular brand does not have a wide array of products in there portfolio such as, TVs, Laptops and smartwatches.It seems the company have realized this factor and now OnePlus are looking to launch there first ever smart TV, this new TV is expected to hit the market next month. The company have however,not yet confirmed anything on the release date of the new product during there announcement event but they have confirmed that the new Smart TV will have a 55″ QLED display.

As of now no variants of the new device have been mentioned, but according to rumors it is believed that there will be as much as 4 different variants which will be made available in the market.Moreover, a screenshot has surfaced online which is seemingly a Google Play Developer Console listing. This listing reveals further details on the upcoming OnePlus TV. According to this information,the new OnePlus TV will be powered by a MediaTek MT5670 SoC coupled along with a Mali G51 GPU. The new device will have a 3GB RAM and will run Android Pie. In additionto that the resolution of the new TV will be 1080p, but seeing as how 4K TVs are pretty much mainstream, OnePlus may offer a 4K option as well.

It is expected to have an HDR panel, a Bluetooth remote, and an AI assistant. The surprising thing about this TV is that it has been code named “Dosa” after a South Indian snack. It probably has something to do with the TV launching in India first. Following there launch in India OnePlus will then expand there operations in to North America, China, and Europe. All we know about the pricing is that it is not going to be budget-friendly. The company is “only focusing on the flagship premium positioning” and are bench marking it against premium products from Sony and Samsung. The TV is expected to launch at a price in the range of $800-$1000.
