PIA and private airliners raised air fares for domestic routes

National flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), with other domestic private airliners jump up their air fares. Notably, the airfares saw  after May. The rates for domestic and International flights are now increased after the revision. 

The fares are increased ahead of winter vacations and Charismas, which would cause worry for travelers, especially for the people travelling between Karachi and Lahore/Islamabad. People regularly use this northern-southern air route in order to travel fast.

The revised fares for the one-way trip from Karachi to Lahore-Islamabad will now cost Rs35,000 while fare from Lahore to Karachi-Quetta has also been increased by Rs10,000 and Rs15,000.

Earlier on May 29, PIA and private airlines had increased their fares, which was after when Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had hiked the fuel prices. The price was increased after a sharp increase of fuel prices in the international market.

However, there was no reason given by the National flag carrier for the hike in fares.
