Redmi set for offline stores – later in the year

Redmi set for offline stores. Realme made its entry into the smartphone world, in particular, in the Indian market as recent as just last year. The company’s phones stand out in the mid-range category, and have since then also been launched in other countries, like Indonesia and Vietnam. Now, with sales increasing, and the company getting bigger, there are indeed plans for it to grow even bigger with the aid of opening brick and mortar stores.

Madhav Sheth, who is the CEO of Redmi, stated that the company plans to “open exclusive stores in India where prospective buyers can get a hands-on experience of the entire portfolio of Realme devices that would include accessories as well as smartphones”. It is expected that the stores promised by the Chinese brand will be in presence starting the second half of the year.

However, even now you can purchase Realme-branded phones offline, though this would be through partner stores. Not so long ago, the buyers who were indeed interested in a Realme phone and were not interested in an online transaction, could only do so by getting the phones from Reliance stores, however, now, they are in collaboration with more than a few multi-brand retail stores, which happen to be located in several cities in India.

Realme certainly seems to have ambition, as the company has also revealed plans to double its production by opening a new factory based in Greater Nodia. And while the Chinese brand already has a factory out there, it plans to dramatically increase the current output of its smartphone production – which ranges from 60 to 80 million smartphones per annum. It is also expected that the manufacturer will go on to announce new models in 2019.
