S10 cheaper than Samsung foldable’s €2000 Price tag

With the rumors flying high with regards to Samsung latest and upcoming flagship phones, the Galaxy S10, there are now rumors that the most premium Galaxy S10 Plus might as well go on to cost around €1599. However, while this huge price tag comes from the S10 series, there are now rumors that the Galaxy Fold, the Korean company’s upcoming and first foldable smartphone will be priced at €2000 ($2274).

While the price tag is without doubt absolutely huge, it isn’t actually that all surprising, especially since the Wall Street Journal reported a while back last year that the Galaxy Fold might cost well over $1500. Considering the fact that the foldable handset would be coming first from Samsung, and will also be one of the first to hit the market of its kind, the premium cost would no doubt have to match the uniqueness of the product from the Korean manufacturer.

However, while we have an idea over the price tag that the Galaxy Fold might bring with it, unfortunately, we don’t know much about it otherwise. There have been confirmations that the phone will come with a 4.5 inch 840 x 1960 screen present on the front of the device, while there will be a 7.3-inch 1536 x 2152 display – which will be placed on the inside.

There have also been confirmations that the device will go on to include two batteries, each worth 2190mAh, hence, giving the phone a combined battery power of 4380mAh.

Over to Suzanne de Silva, who is Samsung’s director of Product Strategy and Marketing, has stated during an interview during CES 2019 that the foldable phone will go on to be released in the first half of this year. There has also been confirmations that indeed the Galaxy Fold will be the marketing name for the handset, whenever it finally comes.

It is expected that the Korean manufacturer will show off the Galaxy Fold at its Unpacked event, which is set to be held on the 20th of February. We can only hope that at that time, Samsung also goes on to confirm the availability, as well as the price of the device.
