Saima Hanif GIST Tech-i Finalist from Pakistan invited for GES at Silicon valley.

“My thoughts are too loud to stop suffering than my voice”

Saima Hanif as an exceptional young innovator and entrepreneur has been invited by Washington DC U.S. Department of State to appear as GIST Tech-I Finalist from Pakistan. Basically, She is a Pharmacist with specialization in the field of Pharmacology. Hence, She became a specialist in drug therapy and diagnostics. She conducted her research in Aga Khan University Karachi. She has been awarded a Gold Medal in M.Phil.  Currently, Saima is a PhD Scholar under supervision of Dr. Peter John in Atta- ur-Rahman School of Applied Biosciences (ASAB), NUST Islamabad. (Pakistan’ s 1st International ranked university). She has been conducting her research in the area of chemical and biomedical engineering in collaboration with CIAC, China.  She won an endeavour award by The  World Academy of Sciences(TWAS), Trieste Italy competing with more than 6o countries. She has been awarded Rs/-250,000 in Pakistan Biggest Business Plan Competition.”Discover” NUST Business Plan Competition-2015, sponsored by Mobilink and NUST. She has also been a winner and awarded cash prize by Distinguished innovations collaboration entreprenuership (DICE) foundation USA and NUST Pakistan-2015. As best product presenter, She had  selected from NUST in Science & Technology Exhibition and Symposium organized by Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST) in collaboration with S&T organizations and regional Chambers of Commerce & Industry in 2015. She has six publications in well repute international journals. Saima is a member of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) which is the world’s largest general scientific society. Her research paper has been accepted by conference in France. She has also been invited by American Ambassador, Mr. Hale in US embassy Islamabad Pakistan for knowledge sharing and discussion about her idea.

Her way of thinking, her approach to accept responsibility of her profession and urge to make practical uses of her discoveries has made her an exceptional scientist in scientific world. As Health professional,


Saima Hanif designed her research project in a innovative way considering socio-economic needs (cost effective health services) of Pakistan. Using her basic knowledge of chemistry, biomedical sciences and multidisciplinary fields, she got successful to design a PCR free, cost effective, simple, fast diagnostic testing tool “CareSpare Tool” for hepatitis C. She aimed to eradicate this disease from Pakistan and from other 3rd world countries globally providing cost effective right diagnosis of Hepatitis C on right time. Her future, goals are to develop ultrasensitive diagnostic test for cancer and AIDS.

As of today, Saima Hanif’s journey started from her home town Multan, to AKU in Karachi, and then to NUST in Islamabad from where she traveled to China for research and now travelling to Silicon valley to present her idea of Hepatitis C testing device “CareSpare Tool” during Global Entrepreneurship summit at California in USA. After her return from USAshe will be travelling to France for presenting her research paper.
