The LG G8 is set to come with Crystal Sound OLED Technology

LG is all but set to launch its latest and upcoming flagship phone – the LG G8 ThinQ, and the plan for the company is to launch the phone during the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019), which is set to be held in Barcelona, later in the month. A handful of details with regards to the upcoming smartphone have already been subject to leaks, however, there is still some information that the users might find new and quite interesting.

With the latest development in mind, it is now being reported that the LG G8 ThinQ will actually be coming with Crystal Sound OLED technology, which would have the ability to turn the phone’s screen right into an audio amplifier. This technology is indeed quite similar to the one which goes on to vibrate the screen in order to produce sound, with an effect that the company has claimed would increase the volume of the sound produced.

LG has confirmed the upcoming technology, in a statement made as follows

At MWC 2019, LG Electronics (LG) will remind audiences of its reputation and history as a leader in smartphone sound with the new LG G8 ThinQfeaturing Crystal Sound OLED (CSO), an innovative technology that utilizes the phone’s OLED display as an audio amplifier.”

This however, does not mean that the technology will actually prompt the phone’s screen to be in a state of constant shaking. LG has gone on to explain that in speakerphone mode, the phone will deliver audio using the bottom speaker, with the phone stepping up to two channels with the top part of the screen.

The other audio features for the smartphone go on to include the support for emulated 7.1 surround sound using DTS:X with or without headphones, along with the company’s “Boombox Speaker” design, which uses space within the phone as a resonance chamber to fill out its sound.

Other info related to the specs includes the fact that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset. This chipset could go on to be supported by 6 gigs of RAM, while LG has already confirmed before that the phone will actually also be support some sort of touch-less gesture controls. We also have news on the battery front : as it has been reported that the phone will feature with a 3500mAh battery to keep the lights running.
