Two midrangers, Lenovo S5 Pro and K5 Pro all set to hit market

If you’re looking for midrangers with decent features at reasonable price then there is no better option than having Lenovo’s S5 Pro and K5 Pro. Both phones come with great battery timings, bezel-less designs, photography-focused features and most amazingly with prices starting at just Rs. 19,000.

Lenovo is all set to launch these ltwo new midrange phones. The S5 Pro which has a notched display comes with slightly better features and costs more. However, K5 Pro is cheaper in comparison to S5 and has no notch but have same processors like S5 Pro. Moreover, internal specs are pretty similar, with somewhat different cameras and designs.

So, let’s get dive into the features of these two phones .At first, I’ll discuss S5 and what special specification this phone is bringing with itself.

 Design & Display of S5 Pro

The S5 features a bigger display than the K5 Pro as it has 6.2-inches display. Although, both phones comes with almost same footprint but the display on the S5 is bigger due to its notched design and trimmed bezels. At the back, you will spot a fingerprint sensor on the metal unibody cover.

Moreover, S5 Pro also has a 3D facial recognition infrared sensor on the front.

It has FHD+ (1080 x 2246) display resolution with a 18.7:9 aspect ratio on an IPS LCD Panel.

Hardware & Storage of S5

Apart from memory options internal specifications are almost same in both phones.

Since S5 Pro has more price that is why it comes with 6GB RAM. You can select two storage options of either 64 GB or 128 GB.

Camera & Software of S5

Lenovo’s S5 Pro features dual cameras set up on the rear which consists of a 12MP f/1.8 main camera and a secondary 20MP telephoto shooter, tha offers 2x optical zoom.

On the other hand, at the front side you will spot dual cameras as well, with a 20MP main sensor and an 8MP depth sensor. To add additional effects like studio lighting and beautification it works with IR facial recognition sensor.

It will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo and Lenovo’s ZUI 5.0 skin.

Battery of S5

The S5 Pro has fast charging and Type-C support, but it features a smaller 3,500mAh battery as compared to K5.

Price & Availability of S5

Pricing of S5 Pro is as follows:

  • 6/64 GB — CNY 1,300 an in Pakistani rupees it would be almost Rs. 25,000
  • 6/128 GB —  to be announced

Design & Display of K5 Pro

As compared to S5 Pro, K5 Pro comes with a smaller 5.99-inch display but it has the same IPS LCD panel and a FHD+ (1080 x 2160) resolution with a tall, notchless 18:9 aspect ratio.

The rear design is also a quite similar, as both phones come with similar vertical dual camera array.

But, KP Pro is without a 3D IR sensor for facial recognition, and just features a single rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Hardware & Storage of K5

K5 Pro has two memory variants of 6 or 4 GB. If you want to buy 4GB variant it will come with 64 GB storage, while the 6GB RAM variant can be bought with either 64 or 128 GB internal storage. However, both of them are powered by Snapdragon 636, a 1.8 GHz quad-core chipset.

Camera & Software of K5

It has a basic 16MP primary camera and a 5MP depth sensor. Well, considering its less price as compared to S5, it has no optical zoom, and no IR sensor, so the phone utilizes the secondary depth sensor for bokeh effect and some other beautification features.

On the other side, dual cameras at the front also take 16 MP selfies, with additional selfie effects such as background blur using the other 5MP lens.

It will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo and Lenovo’s ZUI 5.0 skin.

Battery of K5

Despite the fact that K5 Pro is the cheaper one, it has a larger 4,050mAh battery. It also supports fast charging and a USB Type-C port.

Pricing of K5 Pro is as following:

  • 4/64 GB — CNY 1,000 and in Pakistani rupees it would be almost 19,000
  • 6/64 GB — CNY 1,100 and in Pakistani rupees it would be almost 21,000
  • 6/128 GB — CNY 1,300 and in Pakistani rupees it would be almost 25,000

K5 Pro will be available to purchase on October 25 in China.
