GTA V breaks all movies, games and books records ever released. The blockbuster video game Grand Theft Auto V has turned out to be the most money-making media product of all time. The game reportedly breaks all record of previous games and even movies like Avatar.

Rockstar Games’ GTA V has become one of the biggest hits of the entertainment industry ever. The famous hit was developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games.

GTA V was launched back in late 2013 and still it manage to remains a major talking point in video gaming circles due to its online mode.

Interestingly, the highly praised open world action-adventure video game sold 11.21 million units in its first 24 hours of release bringing $800 million to the house. It was a record at the time, but that didn’t stop there.

Now, GTA V has paved its status as the biggest release in entertainment history, with revenues of about $6 billion to date. It’s huge as it is more than any film any book or game ever sold even movies such as Star Wars and Gone With The Wind.

Well, if we look the history of video gaming industry’s revenue then we will come across that only the Mario series has appear close in terms of revenue according to industry analyst Creutz. However, none of single Mario game has come close to GTA V in terms of sales records.

Doug Creutz says about the game, “I think it’s a wild outlier”.

GTA V still playing strong game

On the other hand, it was also the most expensive video game ever developed, costing Rockstar $265 million. It was the surely the online feature of the game which has gathered the most debate due to its higher prices in gears.

It is pertinent to mention here that last year it was the sixth best-selling game in the US.

Well, indeed it is the micro transaction feature which made the difference here. After observing the impact now Rockstar has decided to insert the transaction element to every video game that it develops in the future.
