Man held for slander of ex-wife on social media. According to the Federal Investigation Agency’s Faislabad cyber crime wing in-charge Mr. Shoaib Haroon a suspect namely, Waqar Mehmood has been arrested from Garh Mohalla in the locality of Gojraafter a complain by his wife was lodged against him. The suspect is a resident of Chichawatni. He has in turn confessed to the authorities that he has created 6 fake WhatsApp profiles and two different accounts are on his mobile phone for de-faming his former wife.
The suspect slandered her wife’s profile by posting obscene pictures of her across the internet on the mentioned social media platforms and the wife, lodged a complain against as soon as she found out about this. She also mentioned in her complain that they were divorced and that the suspect also threatened her on multiple occasions.

FIA further booked his offence under sections 20, 21 and 24 of the prevention of electronic crimes act established in 2016. Moreover FIA made it clear that hate crimes such as these will not be tolerated not even if the person is of the same family and it cannot simply be dubbed as an family issue.
