How to Minimise the battery draining on iPhone with iOS 11

Away from the power source and facing low battery life while using iOS 11?  Well, I have often experienced such situations and am sure for a percentage of iPhone users facing the same.

But no more need for worrying about, you can make some settings changes and make sure some long time running of the iPhone, for the next time in that kind of situation.

Follow these instructions to lengthen the battery timing of your smartphone or tablet with iOS 11.

What’s Draining Your Battery?

Go to the Settings menu of your phone and get to and select Battery option there.

Have a look at the apps that used battery power in last 24 hours alongside the apps that used the battery in past week.

Opt to limit the use of the app you find using a ton of battery power to conserve power.

To avoid further damage to battery power turns off the feature like location sharing.

Adjustment of Screen Settings

Display,  especially on the iPhone and iPad takes a ton of battery to look bright. So control things on the fly by going into the Control Center and do adjust the brightness of your screen’s display.

It is better to turn on Auto-Brightness so that you get brightness adjusted according to the lighting around, automatically.

This way you will not need to power a bright screen at night.

How to get to that menu?

Go to the General Settings and then Accessibility. Select  Display Accommodations, The menu that also has the Invert Colors option. This is a great feature to turn on and leave on (the new Smart Invert Colors option especially), and to get the most of the white on your phone replaced with black.

This way you can dramatically reduce the amount of juice needed to display things.

Adjust your phone’s lock

Get to the adjustment of your phone locks so that you can get it locked fast even when you forget to lock. This is a good idea to minimise battery draining.

Go to Settings step to display and then select Brightness that is followed by Auto-Lock.

Go ahead and set your phone up to lock after 30 seconds. This way you can make less use of battery power.

Low Power Mode

Low Power Mode will automatically set the Auto-Lock to 30 seconds when powered on. It will also reduce or disable a number of other features such as background app refresh, auto downloads, Hey Siri, along with some visual effects.

Use of these modes will be suggested by your phone automatically at the time your battery drops below 20 %.

Just go to Settings then Battery option or ask Siri to turn on Low Power Mode on your phone.

Low Power Mode is a good catch-all if you disable some of the stuff mentioned below individually:

Hey Siri

If you don’t use “Hey Siri” to interact with Siri then just ho to Settings click Siri and Search and toggle off Listen for ‘ Hey Siri ’. Now you have turned off Hey Siri but you can still use Siri. But not by saying hello to Siri.

Now your phone will not be listening to you all the time and battery life would be expanded.

Email Fetch

Power off email fetches individually. To do so, go to go to Settings, click accounts and passwords and then Fetch New Data.

Now your phone will not look for new emails, instead, it will look for new messages when the app is opened.

Background Apps

Do the same thing for apps,  by going to Settings then Background App Refresh and limit the apps able to refresh themselves in the background of your phone.

Toggle the feature off entirely to let nothing being refreshed.

Turn off the location tracking by getting into the  Settings. Click Privacy and then Location services to turn off the feature.

You can opt for entire turn off or for limiting it for individual apps that you want to allow access to your location information.

Though it is a good feature to use you can take the notice that you use this feature only when required.
