As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalized names for its federal cabinet and the representatives of almost all departments have taken oath as well. While almost all of the federal ministers belong to the PTI, the Minister for IT & TelecomDr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique represents MQM. During the last government’s tenure, he was the member of the National Assembly from June 2013 to May 2018.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique Federal Minister for IT & Telecom has recently visited Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi so as to explore new vitas of Innovation & Technology in order to implement his Vision “DIGITAL PAKISTAN ??”. He met Chancellor Mr. Jawaid Anwar, Professor Dr. M. Afzal Haque Vice chancellor and their team.

Imran Khan formally announced his federal cabinet structure and Siddiqui was named as Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication on 18 August. Meanwhile on 20 August 2018, he was sworn in as Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication in the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
