Pakistani juniors beats South Africa to Qualify for U-19 World Cup Semis

Pakistani U-19 cricket team showed a brilliant performance in the biggest tournament of junior cricket teams. The junior heroes have got the ticket to semi-final after beating in-form South Africa U-19 team.

However, the news came out as a feast for Pakistani cricket fans because they were dishearten over the 6th consecutive deafest of Pakistani senior cricket team by New Zealand in current series.

Pakistan opted to bowl first in an effort to limit the opposition to a below-par total. The bouncy positions and conditions were compatible for the pace attack of Pakistan.

Putting a great team effort Pakistani team make it out and won the match against South Africa U-19 team.

Ali Zaryab Asif, the left-hander showed a brilliant bowling performance and a cautious half-century from him guaranteed that Pakistan booked their place in the semi-final for the 8th time out of 12.

In1st Inning, Shaheen Shah Afridi started well, taking away the openers economically, while Muhammad Musa his opening bowling partner made it hard for the batsmen to set some score on scoreboard. He removed the captain van Tonder and in-form H Rolfes in speedy succession.

On the other hand, South Africa was stumbling at 4-43, but a composed partnership of 59 between J du Plessis and the top scorer W Makwetu (60) calmed the innings to some extent; however Pakistan bowlers kept striking at usual intervals to control the run rate.

At the end of inning South Africa couldn’t put a hard to achieve total on the board, managing just 189/9 in their 50 overs.

The economy rate from all the bowlers was very efficient except the part-timer Zaid Alam who gave away 7 runs in his one over.

In 2nd Inning, Pakistan’s top order batsmen got in and then got out. Wickets at usual intervals kept South Africa in the chase during the innings.

The vital partnership between Saad Khan and Ali Zaryab Asif played a crucial role in winning Pakistan over the line.

Zaryab played a victorious knock of 74 while Saad scored 26.

Man of the mach Award

Ali Zaryab Asif was honored with the Player of the Match for his exceptional performance with the bat. He was also the best player for Pakistan in the earlier game against Sri Lanka.
