Apple Announces the HomePod, Rival to Amazon’s Echo

Apple introduced its rival to Amazon’s Echo, the “HomePod“, at the 2017 WWDC. The HomePod is coming soon.

So, being HomePod fan, you might be in search of a chance to get your hands on the product as soon possible. You can surely get it if you act quickly on Friday. As pre-order for the product on company’s website is starting on Friday, January 26

On Tuesday, the tech giant  announced that it will release the HomePod on 9 February, just two months after it was originally slated for release. Apple also says in a statement that it plans to make the HomePod available for pre-order on company’s website starting on Friday, January 26, 2018. What Apple did not say is how many units it will have available to customers and whether it does expect a shortage.

So, to ensure you get your hands on the HomePod to start listening to music & controlling your smart home with its built-in Siri performance on the day it is made available, you will want to pre-order.

Here is a quick guide to the way for pre-ordering the smart speaker on Apple’s website and mobile app on January 26, 2018.

Apple did not say exactly when the company would open pre-orders on the HomePod, but the company does usually make its system available at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET on the day it does offer pre-orders. So, to make it sure you get a HomePod on launch day, just consider staying up until midnight if you are on the West Coast or setting an alarm for early in the morning in case you are on the East Coast.

It is possible the company will still have units available in the morning on Friday, but in case you don’t want to risk, the only option for you is to give up a little sleep.

On Jan. 26, Apple will make its pre-order system available on Apple.com.

When it is time to pre-order, just go to the Apple HomePod page and look for a button that says “order.” Click on that option and you will be taken through the process of choosing your colour of choice (any of Space Gray or White) and opting for an AppleCare+ warranty to get protected your purchase.

That very page will also inform you when the HomePod will ship.

The company also makes its products available for pre-order on its Apple Store app. So you can also boot up the app and you will likely see an option on the homepage to pre-order your HomePod. Go through the same process to choose your wanted version and decide whether you want AppleCare+.

To make things a little bit easier on mobile, Apple also does let you make purchases through Apple Pay, so you can very quickly check out with its mobile payment service.
