PEMRA Cracks Down On Indian Content

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has propelled a nation wide crackdown against link administrators for airing Indian channels notwithstanding the boycott.

An authority of the media guard dog said that further reformatory moves will be made in the wake of letting the illicit administrators hold person­al hearings followed by the inconvenience of fines, issuance of scold, can­cellation/denial of licenses. 

As per PEMRA authorities, their implementation groups have held onto 650 recipients, 25 trans­mitters, 4 CD players, 15 CPUs, 3 Nodes and 12 USBs, and 5 modula­tors from the link administrators. 

The media administrative body is seeking after zero tol­erance strategy towards the distribu­tion of illicit/Indian channels/obscene substance. 

Link administrators the nation over are being cautioned against airing illicit satellite stations, particularly those of Indian beginning. Airing Indian substance is prohibited by the Supreme Court just as PEMRA since August 2019 when Pakistan propelled a social blacklist against India after the extension of involved Kashmir.
