PSL 2019 REVIEW

Just as PSL 2019 came to a close, like every other year, there were some performances that needed be highlighted and PSL has always been the breeding ground of young talents who are able to then make their presence felt and get a spot in the national team, a spot that is a dream come true for most of the teenagers of this cricket-crazy nation. However, its not only the young teenagers who fully electrify the tournament but some big names also light up the pitch with their evergreen experiences. With huge expectations on AB DE Villiers, it was his Australian counter-part who shined the brightest this season.

Let’s check the stars in the batting department:

SHANE WATSON:

It seems like Shane Watson just loves scoring in the PSL! He has kept his form from yester years and has been able to deliver another great performance and gathered together the most runs for the 2019 season with 430. Quetta gladiators have relied on his performances throughout the season and has been one of the leading examples as Quetta made to the knockout stages yet again, with this season’s title going their way.

KAMRAN AKMAL:

Following the Australian is our very own keeper-batsman Kamran Akmal who has silenced his critics who doubted his consistency with another great knock in this year’s PSL. Yet again he was the leading scorer for Peshawar Zalmi and helped them greatly in getting to the final. Playing for Pakistan in the world cup still seems to be far fetched but he has showed his worth in the PSL for sure!

In the bowling department, it is proven every year that Pakistanis have a lot of talent especially in the bowling department and that is more evident in their PSL performances. Unsurprisingly but impressively, the top 9 players in the bowling category our Pakistanis.

Hassan Ali:

It seems only a while ago that Hasan Ali got into the Pakistani team and has taken the world by storm! His iconic celebration is probably copied around the world representing his aggression and passion for the play. He hasn’t disappointed this year as well in his accumulation of 25 wickets throughout the tournament. Despite not being the star, he is in the last season, he has gotten back to his best this year and it shows.

Faheem Ashraf:

He is definitely the perfect example when it comes to consistency and has been deservedly added to the Pakistan team squad. Leading the charts in total number of wickets last time, this year he fell just a little short but was still quite impressive in his performances.
