Redmi Go is now Official

Redmi Go is now Official. Xiaomi have taken to Twitter to announce the phone on earlier today after they posted  a picture that seemingly confirms the design of the phone, this picture was shared by a well known leaker, Ishan Agarwal last week. Furthermore, Xiaomi notes that the device is set to pack a  5-inch 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon chipset clocked at 1.4Ghz, a 3,000mAh battery, an 8MP main camera, and a 5MP selfie snapper.

So basically the leak shared by Agarwal contained more information than the official Xiaomi post regarding the mentioned phone contains, which is surprising, but it is a leak after all but it looks like the real thing. Moreover the leak suggests that  the device will be packing  a Snapdragon 425 chipset (a quad-core chip that indeed tops out at 1.4Ghz), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, and (of course) Android Go based on Android 8.1.

It seems as if you are basically getting the Xiaomi Redmi 2 with a few improvements, I mean if you compare the two devices you will find a lot of differences. The older phone was alsooffering 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a memory card and a 8MP main camera at the rear end of the phone. The major differences between the two devices is that  the Redmi 2 used an older quad-core chipset (Snapdragon 410), a 2,200mAh battery and a 2MP selfie camera while the new phone has upgraded all of these highlightedfeatures. Furthermore, the Redmi Go seems to offer a slightly bigger screen, albeit at the same resolution as the old device.

As of right now we still have no idea regarding the price tag of the mobile phone, but Xiiaomihas ensured consumers that they will be offering incredible value for money as they have done in the past. According to WinFuture, the low-end smartphone will be available in Europe for under 80 euros. This makes it cheaper than several big-name rivals, such as the $100 Nokia 1 and the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core.
