The Honor V30 5G will indeed feature with the Kirin 990 – confirms the president

The President of Honor has recently confirmed that before 2019 comes to a halt, we will indeed be seeing Honor 5G device. This confirmation came about in a media interview which took place after the Wuhan Honor Conference. The president named the particular device as the Honor V30 5G and on top of everything, he has also indicated that the processor that will feature in the device will be subject to being launched within the next couple of days.

This statement quite clearly makes way for the possibility of the Honor V30 5G running the Kirin 990 – considering the fact that the processor will indeed be launching at the IFA in China tomorrow. If the news is indeed true, then it would represent big news for all those waiting to get their hands on a 5G compatible device – as the introduction of a 5G phone from Huawei comes fairly soon, and one would have to imagine that the option coming from the company will be much cheaper than whatever Huawei has on offer.

More on the processor though as previous reports have indicated that it will be the very first processor to feature with 5G SoC chip which happens to be based on the 7nm Fin ET Plus EUV process. EUV lithography would represent the biggest coup of this processor in comparisonto the previous 7nm process. EUV lithography makes way for the further increase in transistor density. This will without doubt make way for the enhancement of chip performance per unit area as well as make way for the reduction in the overall power consumption.

Now that Honor too looks forward to make its mark on the 5G market along with other manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi, it seems the competition is only likely to get more and more heated as other manufacturers too look to enter the prospect of producing devices have 5G capabilities. And hopefully enough, we can only hope that the intense competition that promises to ensue in the future leads to some affordable 5G enabled devices sooner rather than later.
