WHATSAPP GETTING A MUCH-NEEDED FEATURE UPGRADE

Remember the last time, Whatsapp got a fresh update? Same here. It has been so long seeing the same Whatsapp style without any major changes whatsoever that people like me are getting tired of the look and really need a refresh. If the reports are true, then we might be getting something that we have wanted for quite some time. Whatsapp is planning a feature upgrade that might bring a fresher look (if you call dark mode a fresher look).

Dark Mode is the new trend in the software industry with all the apps now coming with an optional dark mode which is said to save battery life on OLED screens. This is done by turning of some pixels to display the black part of the screen which is an ingenious idea. Back to the topic, Whatsapp will be getting a dark mode soon. This would cover chats and the initial interface which will be a breadth of fresh air for people who have been wanting whatsapp to do something about their aging interface.

One exciting feature is probably inspired from the Mission Impossible Franchise, with self destructing messages. This would be a message that would be deleted after a selected a time which could be 5 seconds, 1 day, 30 days or 7 days. All that is needed from it is the sound

This message will self destruct in 5 seconds

Splash screen might be an unwanted feature that Whatsapp might be adding to their app. By splash screen, what we mean is that there will be an initial app screen that will show up just like when you open certain apps like Google maps, which show the maps logo center of the screen for like 5 seconds to make you aware of what app you have opened. The logic behind using this seems to be…nothing. Whatsapp is a fluid app and all that the splash screen will do will interrupt the seamless performance that Whatsapp users are used to.
