WhatsApp new backup feature compromises encryption pledge by the software co.

We all knew that WhatsApp offers end-to-end encryption, it means you have full privacy on every message you sent and receive and it is secured and cannot be read by anyone,not even WhatsApp. just sender and receiver have access to that chat . But, recently WhatsApp and Google has teamed up to offer free chat backups to users which let anyone to access your chat.

Users who have shortage of memory could be attracted to his new WhatsApp backup since it is free. However,  they should be aware of its drawback that breaks end-to-end encryption and allow anyone to access your private chats.

Not to know, the chats on the phone are still protected but backups are not secured because anyone can see the texts and images being sent and received.

The firm’s help page itself confirms that backups are not protected by stating that,

“Important: Media and messages you back up aren’t protected by WhatsApp end-to-end encryption while in Google Drive.”

New WhatsApp Backup is more of a Trade-off Between Safety and Privacy

Only Android users will face this issue as they have Google Play installed on their devices and they are signed up by with a Google address.

How to delete whatsapp free backup?

If you want to delete WhatsApp backups, go to Google Drive and tap into manage app settings.here you can delete them.

Although backing up chats are also beneficial as it helps to keep you secure. For instance, if you lost or broke your phone, you will be able to restore your chat on the new one but if you opt this new free backup you need to consider the safety and privacy of this feature.
