Lahore High Court orders Govt to find new Chairman PTA in 30 days. Nowadays Pakistan’s federal government is in the search process of appointing a new chairman for PTA as the tenure of Dr. Ismail Shah (who is the current Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authorities) had completed on November 13, 2017.

Even though, the retiring chairman Ismail Shah had himself given up the position weeks ago, yet the Lahore High Court has ordered to take out him from the chairmanship and select new chairman PTA in 30 days.

Recently a decision by LHC came out which directed federal government to find the new chairman within target of 30 days.

The petition was filed by Shiraz Zaka who argued upon the regulations about the tenure of PTA chairmanship in High Court. Zaka insisted on the argument that chairman PTA can hold the office for just four years.

High Court’s Justice Shaihd Kareem bounded federal government to announce and advertise about the unoccupied position of new chairman PTA without delay and hire the appropriate applicant for chairmanship within 30 days.

Since 2013, Dr. Ismael Shah has been the chairman PTA and in his tenure, PTA has accomplished numerous landmarks, which led Pakistan toward a flourishing, thriving IT and Telecom industry.

A great recent move by Dr. Ismael for the betterment of the IT sector is the development of DRBIS system which will block snatched and smuggled mobile phones. He also played a primary role in the course when Pakistan was about to establish 3G, 4G, and 4G LTE network communications in Pakistan.

Dr. Ismael has enough experience of working in both public and private sector organizations.

Moreover, the order for the selection of new PTA chairman has been signed by the LHC, as a result the federal government is bound to declare new Chairman PTA within the particular and assigned time limit.
