WhatsApp Plus is a fake malicious app instead of an upgrade. Nowadays, a fake malicious app named “WhatsApp Plus” has been circulated on the web. Well, it is to inform you that if you have installed a “WhatsApp Plus” app with shiny gold logos considering it as an important upgrade to your standard WhatsApp then you should delete it right away.

According to the Tech Radar, a fake malicious is rolling out these days that can affect your smartphone in negative ways.

The popular WhatsApp Plus is not offering any extra functionality or features in the domain of instant messaging users. In fact, this app will insert a malware on your phone. Moreover, it will steal your personal information from the mobile device and also leave its brand logo, in the form of malware.

This malicious app is an alternate of Android/PUP.Riskware.Wtaspin.GB, it was first revealed back in mid-2017 which was actually a fake WhatsApp riskware.

The app excites people with a lot of unheard features like hiding typing a message received texts and reading texts.

The app also offers you to hide the notification if you have played a voice clip. Interestingly, you can even send over 100 photos at once to your friends and family, a secret password for privacy, and much more.

How to identify fake app?

In order to identify, first look at the logo if it has a gold logo in the middle instead of the typical green logo of WhatsApp then it’s fake. Furthermore, there’s a URL written in the middle of the logo.

After clicking on the ‘Agree and continue’ option it will ask you to download the latest version of the app via Google Play store. Once you perform that, the fake version of WhatsApp will take you to an unsafe website where the text is written in Arabic.

And finally, here the website allows you download an app with a bizarre name ‘Watts Plus Plus WhatsApp’.

Well, if you have mistakenly installed the plus version of WhatsApp and now want to get rid of it, here is the method to uninstall/ remove it from your device.

How to uninstall WhatsApp Plus from your phone

  • First of all, go to the phone’s Settings app
  • Scroll down a little and tap ‘Apps & Notifications’
  • Select the app you want to delete
  • Tap Uninstall
  • Tap OK to confirm

Now, make sure that you are installing the right version of WhatsApp on your phone from Google Play Store or Apple App Store instead of fake one.
