APBF condemns killing in Kashmir and warns against Pak-India trade dialogues

All Pakistan Business Forum on Saturday expressed serious concern over the loss of innocent lives and condemned the killing spree in Occupied Kashmir, warning the government against any kind of trade talks with India, which has crossed all limits to violate the human rights.

The APBF President Ibrahim Qureshi expressing complete solidarity with the peaceful Kashmiris said the entire business community was fully supporting them and their cause of independence. He suggested the government to think strategically, not emotionally on trade issues with India. He further said that the global economy is in recession and bilateral trade is diminishing, however, in Pakistan’s case the scenario is worse as its imports are increasing more than exports.

He said that India must understand that peace in South Asia is in the interest of regional countries and the whole world, as extremism will not only damage Pakistan but also hurt India. He called upon New Delhi to abandon fanning militancy in Pakistan and opposing economic corridor which is in her own interest.

Ibrahim Qureshi stated that APBF is deeply concerned over the loss of innocent lives and injuries suffered by hundreds of civilians post killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani by the Indian security forces. The Indian government should direct its forces for restraint and ensure that there is no further loss of innocent lives.

“We take strong exception to the actions by the security forces targeting the civilians above abdomen as is evidenced in the cases of those killed and those who have suffered injuries,” he said. We express sympathies with the families of those killed or injured and the APBF is with them in this hour of grief,” he added.

The APBF president accused the Indian government of trying to divert attention from its internal failure by resorting to unprovoked firing to create unrest in occupied Kashmir. He said that innocent children and youths were targeted during repeated Indian firing, adding that India’s hypocrisy has been exposed before the whole world.

“It is highly condemnable that Muslim youth are being targeted and killed by Indian forces in Kashmir,” said president APBF President.

He added that the government has failed to reign in forces. “More than 20 persons have been killed in various parts of the occupied valley while hundreds have been injured,” he said adding that there is no accountability on forces which are pumping bullets with impunity on the protestors.”

He added that there are other ways of crowd dispersal. There is clear direction to Indian forces to kill people as is evident from the pattern by which the innocent protesters are being targeted,” he added.
