Google to introduce Desire series for mid-range smartphones. Having observed consumer behaviour towards price packages of the smartphones, Google is set to change the game of its premium priced smartphones by introducing less pricey mobile phones.

Yes, you know it quite right that the giant is still offering only the Pixel range of smartphones that is not affordable by every one. Though this series offers flagship specifications, the upcoming Desire series will not less powerful.

You got it it right, the upcoming series of Mountain View-based tech giant has been code named “Desire”, and this series would be an inexpensive one.

Here is an interesting pointed to be noted that HTC’s mid-range smartphones also bear the Desire moniker. Additionally, Google had also recently acquired a major chunk of HTC’s mobile engineering division so that the giant could boost the Pixel range of smartphones.

Before Google gets shifted to the premium Pixel brand, the Mountain-view based tech giant used to sell comparatively inexpensive Nexus smartphones. Nexus smartphones had offered the same clutter-free Android experience for purists.

However, having introduced Desire series that is a mid-range lineup, the company might be looking to regain its audience lost in competing with premium market leaders such as Apple & Samsung as well.

For those unaware of the Pixel series, the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL had debuted in October last year and both these variants offered significant upgrades in terms of camera, software integration, and performance as compared to their predecessors.

However, the giant ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack and instead offers audio connectivity via the USB Type-C port that is also used for charging.
