Google joins Xiaomi to expand reach of its ARCore technology

Google joins Xiaomi to expand reach of its ARCore technology. Google, the tech giant is cooperating with Xiaomi in order to extend the scope of its ARCore innovation. The major aspect of this plan is to expand virtual reality forum in developing markets.

It will give ease of access to the ARCore stage in China where Google Play Store doesn’t work. As a result, Xiaomi will offer Google’s ARCore via its app store for Chinese customers, as announced by the organization in a tweet.

 “Starting today, #ARCore apps are available on Mix 2S devices from the Xiaomi App Store in China. More partners coming soon

At first the technology will be offered to Xiaomi’s Mix 2S devices via an app in the Xiaomi App Store. However, Google aims to add more partners in Mainland China over time.

On the other hand, Google has also suggested that more AR partners are coming soon. Till now, Huawei and Samsung are two confirmed names that have signed up to deal out ARCore apps on Chinese land, Google said previously.

The objective to design ARCore by Google was to offer augmented and virtual reality features to a broad choice of Android phones. However, until now it was just available in Google Pixel handsets and some other Android flagships.

Now, after partnering with Google, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2s will also get AR features.

How ARCore will add value to Xiaomi?

Through ARCore technology, a smartphone will be talented to adopt advanced AR features such as motion tracking, environment understanding, and light estimation.

Even though, Google faced barriers and bans on its different products in China, it has always kept Asian countries particularly China as its main focus.

Google is taking wise step as its rival Apple has already gained benefits from all of its products and services in China. Even Apple’s ARKit is readily accessible in China.

Moreover, Google also plans to host its first ever demo for Asian Countries in Shangai, and interestingly, Pakistani startups are also allowed to apply for this event.
