High Officials from Pakistani Universities and Huawei Technologies Attend Seminar on Pakistan’s Biggest Engineering Competition in UET Lahore

KICS (Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science) UET Lahore in collaboration with Huawei Technologies is organizing ICT Skill Competition 2017 in Pakistan. The registration process of the competition has already been started from 15th of August and will go on until 30th September 2017. In a series of seminars for the awareness of this competition and registration procedure, KICS UET’s team has been organizing seminars in various famous universities of the Punjab region. To continue with, a seminar was held at University of Engineering and Technology Lahore on 28th September 2017 where noted professors from the top universities of Pakistan such as the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, University of Gujrat, UET Taxila, GIK, FAST and to name a few especially made their presence. High officials from Huawei Technologies China and Pakistan also graced the event.

Vice Chancellor UET Lahore, Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, welcomed the guests and delivered a speech. He acknowledged the efforts of KICS and Huawei teams to launch this stupendous event in Pakistan.

Dr. Waqar Mahmood, Director KICS UET, described the competition and the guidelines. He also revealed about the functions of the institute to the attendees.

A large number of students from various popular universities especially came to attend this mega event who showed their keen interest in this upcoming competition and registered. Students from the universities and colleges in the Punjab region are eligible to compete and register for this competition, which preliminary round will commence from 9th October and last until 13th October. The regional final will take place from 25th October to 27th October whereas the national level final will be conducted from 5th to 11th November 2017. Top 6 finalists from Pakistan will be awarded a paid trip to China by Huawei where they will compete for the final from 11th to 15th December 2017. Students, who participate in this competition, will be awarded many other precious prizes such as Huawei mobiles, exam vouchers and a lot more.

The delegation was taken to UET’s newly developed branch where Huawei’s technical courses are conducted in Model Town Lahore.

Vice Chancellor UET also had a personal meeting with the high officials at his office later, where he distributed the shields to the guests.
