New MacBook Air comes with Retina Display, thinner bezels, updated internals

Good news for all MacBook Air fans, as Apple has finally decided to update its best selling and cheapest laptop. Now you can get your hands on the latest MacBook Air which comes with exciting new features and updates.

Specs of new MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air comes with modern-looking design featuring a 13.3″ 2560×1600 Retina Display with 50% narrower bezels than its predecessor. It also has glass coverage up to the edges.

Now the screen can show 48% more color, and the FaceTime camera is still at the top. It features Touch ID, enabling by the T2 chip that’s inside the MacBook Air. It also guaranteed that the software loaded during booting hasn’t been tampered with; it does on the fly data encryption for the SSD, and makes it possible to use Hey Siri.

Well, this time with MacBook air, you will get up to 1.5TB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM. It has an 8th generation dual-core Intel Core i5. The battery life is 12 hours for web browsing and 13 hours when playing movies off iTunes.

According to Apple, the keyboard is more precise and responsive than ever and looks like 4th generation butterfly type. Moreover, its keys are individually backlit.

The trackpad comes with Force Touch offering 20% more surface area. Luckily, the speakers are 25% louder and have two times the bass than its predecessor.

 The new MacBook Air has 17% less volume than the older model as it is completely made from recycled aluminum. Its 10% thinner at 15.6 mm, and it weighs only 2.75 pounds that’s 1.24 kg. It comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, so you can connect a 5K display or even an eGPU.

Color options

You have three colors to choose from:

  • Gold
  • Space gray
  • Silver

Price

You can place order as it’s available for pre-order but it will be released on November 7. Its prices start at $1,199.

According to Apple, it is the cheapest laptop it’s ever made with a Retina Display. Well that’s true, other than the starting price has notably creeped up as compared to the previous generation.
