PAKISTAN INDIA LOCK HORNS OVER KASHMIR AGAIN

Just recently, the Indian Government revoked a long standing Article 370 which prohibited outsiders from buying property in Kashmir and only the residents were able to live there permanently. This allowed the muslim majority to remain in place but since the area was primarily under Indian rule, muslims are facing a lot of cruelty and numerous people have died not to mention the everyday torture that the people of Kashmir have to face for just being muslim. This article did provoke an outrage but India cut the cable and the internet to prevent any gathering of people or riots in opposition of the lack of respect given by the Indian Government to the Kashmiris.

People in Pakistan and around the world have condemned the act saying that it is completely unconstitutional. The biggest thing to note here is that this movement received a lot of criticism from within India as well but since it the Hindu Nationalist BJP party in charge it only looks out for Hindu interests and have lured Pakistan quite a few times which could possibly trigger war but calm heads in Pakistan have always prevailed and prevented the matter from getting out of hands. But this time, Indian Government might just be testing the patience of the Pakistani Government a little too much.

In a press release, the Foreign Office has strongly condemned the move in its statement:

No unilateral step by the Government of India can change this disputed status, as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions,” read the statement. “The decision will never be acceptable to the people of IoK and Pakistan. As the party to this international dispute, Pakistan will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps. The foreign secretary conveyed Pakistan’s unequivocal rejection of these illegal actions as they are in breach of international law and several UN Security Council resolutions

There has been a public outcry on Social media but whats the point? People in Kashmir do not have internet access to actually see what people are posting on social media. It is time for intervention by the peacekeeping force of the United Nations which has been stagnant in recent events of human torture which leads one to believe whats the actual purpose of such a force when people around the world are being slaughtered everyday in the name of politics between the higher powers. Pakistani Government should hold a more stern stance on the matter and should not let India dictate any terms which would lead to Kashmiri Muslims suffering so much. The peace of the Kashmiri Muslims is long overdue and the government and the UN needs to act fast!
