Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government cuts price of petrol by PKR 2.41

The newly elected government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is going to give another great relief to citizens as it has reduced oil prices by up to 5.6% and this order will take effect from Saturday 1st September, 2018.

It is important to mention here that it is the government’s very first official notification on petroleum products since being elected to power.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also come down by PKR 6.37 per litre (5.6%), decreasing from Rs112.94 to Rs106.57 per litre. The price cut would be helpful for the agriculture and transport sectors as HSD is widely used in these two sectors.

By tomorrow, you will get 1 liter in Rs92.83 instead of Rs95.24 as petrol has become cheaper by Rs2.41 per litre (2.5%). Following the ban of native gas at CNG retail outlets, there is more demand for petrol on petrol stations.

The kerosene oil is now priced at Rs83.50 as it has been reduced by Rs0.46 per litre (0.55%). However, the rate for light diesel oil (LDO) witnessed a hike of Rs0.59 per litre, and now the new prices for LDO is set at Rs73.96.

According to the finance ministry, Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the change in prices of petroleum products on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

In this regard, Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) had earlier proposed a big cut in the prices of petroleum products. The objective behind this move is to provide relief to the consumers.

So, the news is real gift of Naya Pakistan for the nation who was expecting change in every field of life. And reducing the prices of oil and Petrol could be one of the signs that people will get more reliefs in future.
