Recently HP Laptops Recalled Over Battery Issues, Is Your Laptop Affected?

Recently HP Laptops Recalled Over Battery Issues, Is Your Laptop Affected. If you are using an HP laptop then you need to worry about your safety as recently the company declared news on Thursday announced a major battery issue.

In this regard, HP issued a battery recall notice for a number of its laptops and mobile workstation over battery concern which could turn out to be a fire hazard.

According to company, HP laptops which sold between December 2015 and December 2017 are getting overheating and some of them even melting by reaching at the peak level.

It is important to mention here that the recall has been issued for following eight cases of battery overheating or melting where in one case it caused first degree burns to someone’s hand and in three different cases the battery turned into the reason for causing property damage.

On the other hand, company claims that approximately 0.1% of HP laptops sold between the last two years are affected due to the battery fault. Well, it may seems a small amount of laptops but reality is different as it is not a really small quantity given how many hands it has exchanged already around the world.

Recalled Devices

The devices that are being recalled comprises of:

  • HP ProBook (64x G2 and G3 series, 65x G2 and G3 series)
  • HPx360 310 G2
  • HP Envy m6
  • HP Pavilion x360; HP 11
  • HP ZBook (17 G3, 17 G4, and Studio G3)

Is your battery affected? How to check?

Now, unfortunately if you own any of the above models don’t panic, all you need to do is to visit the HP’s website and then download the utility to check whether your laptop’s battery is affected.

Apart from this service, the company also offers various instructions and software on their website to facilitate Battery Safety Mode.

On an interesting note, at the start of 2017 the company recalled thousands of laptop batteries over some fire concerns as well. Maybe it has started to turn into a New Year tradition. Well, we hope not.

Unfortunately, battery explosions are getting more and more common nowadays, which is an alarming situation without any doubt. Tech companies need to find out a proper and reliable solution for battery damages and explosions.

Battery explosions are not only damaging the properties but they are also affecting the precious human lives.
