75% of Pixel users have been revealed to have upgraded to Android Pie.

Last week it was seen that over 50% of the iPhones and IPads released in the last four years were already running on the latest versions of IOS when they were released into the market by Apple. Rick Osterloh who is currently the Senior Vice President of Hardware at Google gave an interesting statistic surrounding the Pixel phones. It was stated that the Pixel users were relatively quick to update their phones to the latest versions of android in order for them to explore the treats that new Software Android Pie promises to deliver.

In the last two months since Google has made the Android Pie official to its users, Osterloh states that almost 75 percent of Pixel owners have switched to the new operating system and it can also be devised that majority of the Pixel owners made this upgrade as soon as the new version was available to be downloaded and the hold outs seem to be trickling in and while this Statistic clearly stands out considering the fact that it is an amazing stat for one thing the other being that this stat defines the success of the new Operating System. However when comparing it to September’s distribution numbers which show that Pixel users who have opted for this upgrade do not even account for 0.01 percent of the somewhat two billion android devices currently running by the population which is a red alert for Google and even though other Enterprises such as One Plus or Essential have started giving their users this upgrade, it is still quite unlikely that we will be seeing and movement on the distribution stats until or unless Samsung becomes an array of hope for Google which can only be possible if Samsung releases Pie for its flagship models.

Furthermore Osterloh’s statistic does define the success of the new Operating System somewhat but when it comes down to the fact of how many users can actually access the feature other than a few Pixel users, it can clearly be said that Google has until now failed as technology such as this should be made available to people who have spent fortunes on buying flagship phones from different companies. What do you think? Is it a success for Google or has Google failed to deliver?
