Samsung Galaxy S9 to be the first Android flagship launched next year

Samsung Galaxy S9 to be the first Android flagship launched next year. You might be wandering whether the Galaxy S9 will get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845,  since Qualcomm unveiled the feature. Probably you are one of those who consider that the system-on-a-chip would be powering the next generation of Android and Windows 10 devices coming with faster battery charging speeds than its predecessor.

You might also be considering Galaxy S9 with Snapdragon 845  because  Samsung equips its flagship devices with the latest Qualcomm and Samsung chips, meaning that they can not share the same battery charging technology. But a report says the Galaxy S9 will not be supporting Quick Charge 4.0+ support. The upcoming Galaxy S9 will not be even the Snapdragon 845-powered model.

Weibo has shared this news and a long-time leaker Ice Universe said there that he found out the Galaxy S9 phones will not support Quick Charge 4.0+.

Reason for that, apparently is that Samsung does not want to pay the license fee for this particular piece of Qualcomm technology. That is not surprising considering that Samsung supports Apple opposing  high royalty pricing schemes of Qualcomm for cellular modem technology.

But don’t be too much relying upon Weibo’s report because none of this is confirmed at the moment.  But we will soon see exactly what kind of battery charging technology the Galaxy S9 is going to pack.

The point to be noted here is that there’s no official quarrel between Samsung and Qualcomm other than Samsung’s endorsement of Apple’s claim against the giant chipmaker.

Actually  it is Samsung that is set to mass-produce the Snapdragon 845 chip for Qualcomm.

That said, Samsung have its own fast charging technology for Samsung batteries, and we can only anticipate it evolved to match Quick Charge 4.0+ of Qualcomm.

In otherwise case, Samsung’s best 2018 phones may charge slower than all the Android flagships that are set to be launched in the next year with Snapdragon 845 chips inside.
