Uber users’ credit card info being hacked, Uber pays itself

For the provision of best security and safety preferences,  Uber has always been appreciated but the tough times has been started that company is facing since the past few months. Most of the complaining users suggest other unaffected customers the removal of their debit/credit card information from the app. Twitter is clamoring with the tweets that report the unfair charges on their Uber account. It is not impossible that the cybercriminals are utilizing their credit card information to pay for their rides.

The Uber customers have now  a new list of complaints against the Uber, as various users are voicing their concern over credit card charges that points towards an alleged hacking of their bank related info. And the users are moving to Twitter for the expression of their stress.

Most of the complaining users suggest other unaffected customers the removal of their debit/credit card information from the app. Twitter is clamoring with the tweets that report  the unfair charges on their Uber account. It is not impossible that the cybercriminals are utilizing their credit card information to pay for their rides.

As the Uber app is a popular part of daily transportation requirements in Pakistan, so the question excites, will the users here face the same issue? It does not matter until  the users have made all the apt precautions to keep their credit card information undisclosed.

Uber’s response on the issue:

The company claims that when people use same passwords for multiple accounts and it is likely that the hacker stole the user’s password from one site and got access to one or more others with the same password.

Uber suggests the customers report anything suspicious happening with their account so that the transportation company takes action. Meanwhile,  the company comforts their users by refunding and re-securing every amount that was taken by fraudulent means.

In addition with this, Uber also mentioned on its official site that once the user enters their customized credit card information it is encrypted into codes.

 Uber is going on expanding its business as it has initiated its services in Faisalabad, and it also has planned to invest $500 million in Pakistan by 2020.
