WhatsApp to say bye to some mobiles in the start of 2018. Social media sites and their use among g people to interact with the world has become inevitable these days, and WhatsApp is one of the top sites in this regard. But what would you say or how would you react if some one says that your phone would no longer let you enjoy WhatsApp?

Of course you would just hate to hear such a statement, but I am in too much trouble to let you be informed of the fact that some mobiles would no more be able to support this app.

Messaging app Whatsapp is being reported to stop work on some mobiles from New Year’s Day 2018.

According to the reports from the Mirror, company had announced the change earlier this year.

Thinking about the reason behind this decision of WhatsApp? You are not alone there to get informed that the reason given behind the decision media site, is that the messaging service is looking ahead to the iOS and Android platforms. It means that some operating systems would lose out.

Through a blog post, the company has clarified the decision in these words,

“As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use,”.

Well if you are not a Blackberry user, you are in luck, because any BlackBerry device that is running BlackBerry OS or BlackBerry 10 will no longer be able to use the WhatsApp in 2018.

BlackBerry has shifted to Android in 2017, but older handsets of Blackberry still use its own in-house software.

Additionally, any mobile phone using Microsoft’s Windows 8.0 (or older version) OS will not be supported by WhatsApp. Even that Microsoft has admitted its defeat when it comes to its mobile OS, so the lack of WhatsApp support should not come as a surprise.

WhatsApp the connecter of the millions, itself has been around since the year 2009 and has slowly added more and more features like end-to-end encryption and video calling.

Because of its cross-platform support WhatsApp has become the most popular messaging platform in the world.

Even though it has more than a billion users, many of them have older phones, changes in technology meaning that it has to phase out compatibility to keep its security up to date.

“This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.”
